The island of Tenerife is the largest of seven Canary Islands and is the most populated Spanish island which makes it arguably the most popular. This popularity is why holidays in Tenerife are very much sought after and people return year after year.

Puerto de la Cruz a ‘tourist city’ and is the second largest resort on the island but is considered the best. The resort, also known as El Puerto, is aimed for people to have relaxed holidays to Tenerife and the accommodation is dominated by hotels rather than apartments which is different to other areas.

The relaxed ethos of El Puerto is accentuated by gorgeous gardens and landscape which makes it a great place to just walk around and absorb your surroundings. The streets are filled with many historic buildings and the architecture really where your head may get stiff from staring up and down at each magnificent structure. With many open air restaurants available you will always have a great view whilst you dine on you Tenerife holidays.

Puerto de la Cruz visitors must go to Lago Martianez where there are a series of seawater pools where you can rest and bathe in the sun, this has to be on your to do list. Another must it the small beach areas of volcanic sand on the volcanic coast.
